San Antonio CineFestival is the nation’s longest running Latino Film Festival. Since 1977, the festival has showcased movies by and about Latinos. In 2017, Latinos continue to be underrepresented on the screen and Cinefestival’s presence is as important as the day it was founded. Our theme this year is “Cinefestival: Where Movies Matter.” The poster was designed by John Mata in collaboration with CineFestival director Jim Mendiola. Inspired by the cover of The Clash’s “London Calling” album, it references the revolutionary role of media.
